FAQ
Roof replacement in Kress, answered.
How do I know it is time to replace the roof?
Common signs are widespread curling or missing shingles, granule loss in gutters, leaks in more than one spot, daylight in the attic, or a roof near 20 to 25 years old for asphalt shingles.
Can a new roof go over the old one?
Some codes allow a second layer of shingles, but many roofers prefer a tear-off so the decking can be inspected. Ask what your local code and the manufacturer allow.
Do I need a permit for roof replacement in Kress?
Many cities and counties require a building permit for roof work; the roofing company normally pulls it. Ask who is responsible and request a copy. Check with the Swisher County building department for local rules.
Is this service free?
